Three men on motorcycles opened fire near Pushpa Park in Juhu on Sunday evening, sending actor Tiger Shroff into a frantic escape. Shroff emerged unhurt, but the violence did not stop at the target. His driver and an auto-rickshaw driver caught in the crossfire sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
The motive emerged quickly, courtesy of a chilling audio clip. Anil Pandit, claiming to be the younger brother of gang leader Lawrence Bishnoi, took responsibility for the attack alongside his brother Harman Sandhu. "We tried to reason with him, but he did not understand," Pandit stated on the recording. The gang’s grievance? Shroff’s proximity to superstar Salman Khan. Pandit issued a stark ultimatum: if Khan does not apologize to Lawrence Bishnoi and the Bishnoi community, the gang will kill him and his family. "We will not leave even a dog in your house," he warned.
Mumbai Police have mobilized 12 teams in the Juhu area to comb for the shooters. They have filed a case and are actively tracing the men. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stepped in, speaking directly with the Mumbai Police Commissioner to demand an expedited investigation and strict action against the perpetrators. Shroff, son of veteran actor Jackie Shroff, reportedly had not received any prior threats before the incident.
The next 24 hours will determine whether the police can identify the shooters before they slip away. The gang’s explicit threat against Salman Khan has now escalated this from a single attack into a broader kidnapping and extortion crisis within the Bollywood industry.
