PPT filed an injunction in the London High Court on 1 May, demanding a halt to Guardian News and ITN’s publication of alleged sexual‑misconduct claims.
Sara Mansoori KC argued that more than 30 witnesses had testified that the celebrity had abused his position to pursue sexual relations with young women and teenagers.
The suit follows two suicide attempts by PPT—one in May after the outlets first contacted him, the other in July—each ending with hospital admission.
Gavin Millar KC, representing the media, insists the allegations are credible and that a duty to publish outweighs any “suicide risk” claim, citing European Convention rights and NHS support.
The judge has scheduled a hearing for later this month to rule on the injunction and has urged the public to refrain from speculation about the celebrity’s identity.
