Heartbreak on the Water: Delhi Family's Cruise Turns Deadly

A family trip to a housewarming ceremony in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, turned into a nightmare for a Delhi family. They were on a sightseeing cruise boat when it was hit by strong winds and capsized. Three members of the family, including a mother and a four-year-old son, lost their lives in the tragedy.
The family, who were on their way back to Delhi, had decided to spend a day sightseeing before returning home. They were among 40 passengers on the boat when it overturned.
Relatives of the deceased are alleging negligence by the boat operators and authorities. They claim that despite a yellow weather alert, no warning was issued to tourists.
The family's brother-in-law, Pradeep, who managed to save himself and his teenage daughter, said that the waves started rising and the boat became unbalanced. He opened packets containing life jackets and started distributing them to passengers.
However, by the time he looked for his sister, her child, and mother, they had disappeared under the overturned vessel. Relatives are questioning the absence of a permanent emergency rescue setup at the tourist spot.
The state government has ordered a probe and sacked three members of the boat's crew. Search operations are still underway for six missing tourists.
