Jammu Bridge Collapse: 3 Labourers Killed During Repair Work

The state of Jammu is still reeling from the shock of a devastating bridge collapse that occurred on the outskirts of the city. A team of labourers was working on repairing the old bridge when a portion of it gave way, trapping four of them. Unfortunately, three of the labourers lost their lives in the tragic accident.
The rescue operation was a massive effort involving multiple teams, including police, the Army, National Disaster Response Force, State Disaster Response Force, and fire and emergency services. The team worked tirelessly through the night, using floodlights to search for survivors. In the end, three bodies were recovered, and two others were rescued with injuries.
The injured labourers were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. Among them was Divisional Fire Officer Mohammad Jaffar, who was hit by a boulder during the rescue operation. Fortunately, he is receiving medical attention and is expected to recover.
The government has taken swift action in response to the incident. Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary rushed to the scene and ordered the suspension of two engineers involved in the repair work. A three-member inquiry committee has also been constituted to investigate the incident and determine the cause of the collapse.
The government has promised a thorough investigation and has set a five-day deadline for the committee to submit its report. The people of Jammu are left to wonder how such a tragic accident could occur, and the government's swift response is a testament to its commitment to ensuring the safety of its citizens.
