India Condemns Fujairah Drone Attack After Three Nationals Injured
India on Tuesday condemned a drone attack on the Fujairah Petroleum Industries Zone (FOIZ) in the UAE that injured three Indian nationals, calling the strike 'unacceptable' and demanding an immediate end to hostilities. The Ministry of External Affairs urged the protection of civilian infrastructure and reaffirmed India's support for dialogue and diplomacy to restore peace in West Asia.
The Indian Embassy in the UAE confirmed the injuries and stated it was coordinating with local authorities to ensure medical care and welfare for the affected citizens. The Khaleej Times reported the three sustained moderate injuries after a fire broke out at the oil facility following the attack.
The UAE's Ministry of Defence said Iran launched four missiles toward multiple locations across the country, with three intercepted over territorial waters and one falling into the sea. The UAE Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes as 'unprovoked aggression' and a violation of international law, warning it would not tolerate threats to its sovereignty.
India also called for unimpeded navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing the importance of free commerce in line with international law. The MEA reiterated India's readiness to support all efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
The UAE has activated public safety protocols and is expected to escalate diplomatic responses, while India continues to monitor the situation closely through its embassy in Abu Dhabi.
