Delhi Court Grants Bail to I-PAC Director Vinesh Chandel - What's Really Going On?
Vinesh Chandel, a director of Indian PAC Consulting Private Limited, has been at the center of a big investigation. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) had arrested him under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) for allegedly being involved in financial irregularities and money laundering.
The ED had claimed that Chandel was a 33% shareholder of Indian PAC Consulting Private Limited and had been involved in various modes of money laundering, including receiving unaccounted funds and issuing bogus bills and invoices.
However, in a surprising move, the ED didn't oppose Chandel's bail application in court. This has raised some eyebrows, especially considering the timing - the West Bengal elections were just around the corner.
The ED had been investigating Chandel and his company for over a month, and they had found some evidence of financial irregularities. However, it seems like they didn't find enough to keep Chandel in custody.
The court granted Chandel bail on the condition that he furnishes a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh and one surety of the same amount. This move has sparked a lot of debate, with some people questioning the ED's decision not to oppose Chandel's bail application.
