A Landmark Gesture: Maharashtra BJP President Donates Land for Elderly Artists
Ravindra Chavan, the president of the Maharashtra BJP, is known for his compassionate approach to social causes. His latest move is a testament to this, as he has pledged to donate one acre of his land to support the Cine Artists Welfare Trust (CAWT). This trust is dedicated to helping senior artists in the film industry, who often struggle to make ends meet after their fame has faded.
Chavan made his announcement after meeting with the members of CAWT to discuss the challenges faced by these artists. He expressed his admiration for the trust's efforts to provide support and care to the elderly artists.
The CAWT has a long history of receiving support from legendary Hindi cinema artists, including Dilip Kumar, Sunil Dutt, and Mithun Chakraborty. Chavan also honored these artists by inaugurating a special plaque at the event.
According to Chavan, there are approximately 9,000 to 10,000 senior artists in the state who are still struggling to cope with the challenges of aging. He assured that he would take concrete steps, along with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Cultural Minister Ashish Shelar, to address these issues.
This generous gesture by Chavan has sent a powerful message to society about the importance of respecting and understanding the struggles of those in the entertainment industry.
