BJP Fires Back at Congress Over Election Claims
The Assam BJP is not having it when it comes to the Congress's claims about the election results. According to BJP Chief Spokesperson Kishore Upadhyay, the Congress is making 'frustrated statements' because it can't understand the public's support for the BJP-led alliance.
Upadhyay said that the Congress is trying to come up with excuses for its expected loss in the election. He pointed out that the Congress is questioning the strongroom security, but it's just a way to divert attention from its own failures.
Upadhyay also cited Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to counter the allegations. He said that Chowdhury had praised the election process in West Bengal, where the voter turnout reached a historic 93 to 94 percent.
Speaking about the exit polls, Upadhyay said that they reflect the public sentiment across states. He said that the BJP-led alliance is expected to win in Assam, while the INDIA alliance is expected to win in Kerala.
Upadhyay also took a jab at the Opposition alliance meetings, calling them 'hotel-centric politics.' He said that the BJP is focused on development and carrying forward the eviction drive over another five lakh bighas of land.
