Maharashtra Police Uncover Matrimonial Fraud Racket; Woman Accused of Defrauding Nine Husbands

Maharashtra Police have busted a matrimonial fraud syndicate in Beed district following the exposure of a woman accused of defrauding nine men through serial marriages. The racket was uncovered after a resident of Umapur village filed a complaint with the Superintendent of Police, alleging he was extorted of several lakh rupees under the pretext of marriage.
Investigations revealed that the suspect, supported by a network of agents, targeted victims through matrimonial traps to facilitate financial extortion. The complainant grew suspicious of the bride’s activities shortly after their wedding, subsequently discovering she had previously married and looted eight other men using similar tactics.
The criminal network operated by luring men into marriages and demanding large sums of money before the woman would abscond. Following the formal complaint, district police registered an official case and initiated a forensic audit of the financial transactions involved in the latest incident.
Beed police have launched a coordinated search operation to apprehend the remaining members of the gang who acted as mediators and matrimonial agents. Authorities are currently identifying other potential victims and verifying the total scale of the financial fraud across the region.
