AAP Rebel on the Run: MP Sandeep Pathak Goes into Hiding

Imagine waking up one morning to find out that you're going to be arrested. That's exactly what's happening to Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He's been accused of some serious non-bailable offenses in Punjab, and now he's gone into hiding.
Pathak is one of the seven AAP MPs who left the party and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). They all quit together on April 24, saying that the AAP had strayed from its core values. Now, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is taking it personally.
Mann is so upset that he's planning to meet with India's President, Droupadi Murmu, on May 5 to complain about what he calls "illegal" and "unlawful defection." He thinks that Pathak and his friends have betrayed the people who voted for them.
This whole situation is pretty weird, but here's the thing: the AAP still has a majority in the Punjab Assembly, and Mann just won a confidence vote. So, even though Pathak has jumped ship, it doesn't look like it will hurt the AAP's chances in the next election.
The BJP, on the other hand, is trying to help Pathak out. They've got their lawyers working on getting him relief, but for now, he's just disappeared. It's like he vanished into thin air!
