Mamata Banerjee Predicts Big Win for TMC, Slams Exit Polls
Mamata Banerjee is a confident woman. She's been leading her party, the Trinamool Congress (TMC), in the West Bengal assembly elections, and she thinks they're going to win big. In fact, she's predicting they'll take over 200 seats in the state.
Banerjee made her comments during a video conference with her party's counting agents. She's not happy with the exit polls that have been released, which show a close contest between the TMC and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). She thinks the exit polls are just an attempt to manipulate the stock market.
But that's not all. Banerjee also accused the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) of being brutal to her party's workers. She said that those who were affected will be rewarded by the TMC in the days to come.
All this is happening as repolling is taking place in two constituencies in South 24 Parganas district. The repolling is being held under tight security arrangements, and so far, everything seems to be going smoothly. Voter turnout has been significant, with some polling booths reporting over 70% participation.
The results of the West Bengal assembly elections will be declared on May 4. This is a high-stakes election, and everyone is watching closely to see who will come out on top.
