MP CM Mohan Yadav's Bengal Campaign Yields High BJP Win Rate

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav campaigned in seven West Bengal assembly constituencies ahead of the state elections, and the BJP won six of them, according to Election Commission data. The party crossed the majority mark in the 294-member assembly, marking a significant shift in Bengal's political landscape after years of Trinamool Congress dominance.
Yadav held rallies in five constituencies in Bankura district Saltora, Chhatna, Bankura, Barjora and Onda where the BJP secured victories in all. The candidates won by margins ranging from over 32,000 to more than 54,000 votes. He also campaigned in Kharagpur Sadar, where Dilip Ghosh won, and Kamarhati, where the BJP candidate lost by about 5,000 votes.
Yadav's campaign performance in Bengal mirrors his earlier efforts in Bihar, where the BJP won 21 out of 25 constituencies he visited, and in Haryana, where the party won four of five. Following the results, Yadav credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership and said voters rejected 'injustice, oppression and misgovernance'. He dismissed suggestions of being a party mascot, calling Modi the BJP's sole mascot.
The Madhya Pradesh BJP is assessing the implications of Yadav's high success rate as the party consolidates its national outreach. The state unit will review campaign strategies for upcoming elections at a meeting scheduled for next week.
