Thousands of tribals and farmers marched to the Sub Divisional Officer’s office in Dahanu, Maharashtra, on Tuesday to submit land-related claims. The protest in Palghar district was led by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and All India Kisan Sabha. Organizers stated that 15,000 peasants from Dahanu and Talasari tehsils participated in the demonstration.

Protesters carried representations asserting land rights and called for immediate administrative action on pending claims. Demonstrators gathered in central Dahanu before proceeding to the district office to lodge documents under official receipt.

District authorities confirmed receipt of the submissions and stated that claims will be processed under applicable land record procedures. The administration said it will review the representations and issue formal responses following verification.
