Bengal Election Drama: TMC Alleges Vote Tampering, BJP Denies Charges
Bengal is in the midst of a heated election drama, with the Trinamool Congress (TMC) accusing the Election Commission of India (ECI) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of vote tampering. The TMC shared a CCTV footage on social media that appears to show ballot boxes being opened near a strong room.
The party alleged that the ECI and the BJP are working together to rig the election, but the ECI has denied all charges.
In a statement, the ECI said that all strong rooms have been sealed and secured, and that the process of segregating ballots was taking place in a separate area.
The ECI also claimed that the TMC was informed about the process and was given access to the strong rooms, but the party refused to accept the explanation.
Mamata Banerjee, the TMC chief, has weighed in on the situation, urging her party workers to remain vigilant and not to let the BJP and the ECI steal the mandate of the people.
The BJP has denied all allegations, with one of its leaders, Tapas Roy, saying that the TMC is trying to create a false narrative and lie to the common people.
