Brother Beats Brother, Then Mother: A Family Tragedy in Kerala

Imagine coming home to find out that your brother and mother have gone missing. That's what happened to Sini, a woman living in Anakkara. But little did she know, something much darker was going on in her family home.
Saji, 45, allegedly killed his brother Reji in a fit of rage after a fight. Reji had come home drunk and Saji couldn't take it anymore. The police say Saji hit Reji repeatedly in the face and hands, then strangled him with a towel. But that wasn't the end of it. Saji's mother, Marykutty, was also a witness to the crime and had to be silenced.
According to the police, Saji repeatedly hit Marykutty on the face before smothering her. The whole thing was a shocking turn of events, especially since Saji had been acting strangely in the days leading up to the incident. He had begun doing tasks that were usually done by Reji, which raised suspicions among the villagers.
The autorickshaw driver who regularly took Marykutty to the hospital noticed that Saji was doing more tasks than usual and became suspicious. He informed Sini, Reji's sister, who lodged a police complaint. The police were called in, and they found human remains in the family house.
The police investigation has revealed that Saji was planning to get married and wanted control of the family property. Reji, on the other hand, wanted a share of the land and had been taunting Saji over paternity issues. The police say Saji acted alone and there were no accomplices.
The police have also reopened a case from 2018, where Saji's father, Mathew, went missing. They are investigating whether there could be a connection between the two cases. Saji has been arrested and is currently in judicial custody.
The forensic examination of the recovered remains is underway to confirm the identities of the victims. The police are still trying to establish the full timeline of the crime. It's a tragic and disturbing case that has left the villagers in shock.
