Tamil Nadu Class 12 Board Results Postponed Amid Government Formation
The Tamil Nadu Class 12 board exam results, originally set for release on May 8, 2026, have been postponed, the School Education Department confirmed on Wednesday. The Directorate of Government Examinations cited the ongoing formation of the new state government as the reason for the delay.
A total of 816,289 students appeared for the exams, which were held from March 2 to March 26, 2026. Officials said result processing is underway, and a revised announcement date will be communicated later.
The delay is administrative, with sources indicating that final clearances for result declarations are pending under the outgoing administration. No technical or logistical issues have been reported in the evaluation process.
The Directorate of Government Examinations will announce the new result date after coordination with the incoming state government.
