Punjab Chief Minister Accused of Being Under the Influence
The drama unfolded in the Punjab Assembly on Labour Day, a special day to honor workers. But instead of celebrating, the opposition parties like the BJP and Congress were busy attacking Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. They accused him of being under the influence of alcohol, which led to a heated debate in the assembly.
The opposition leaders were very vocal about their concerns, saying that the Chief Minister's behavior was unacceptable and a grave insult to the assembly. They even demanded a breathalyzer test to confirm their suspicions.
But the AAP government wasn't having it. They called the allegations false and said they were just a ploy to create chaos. AAP's state chief Aman Arora said that the opposition parties have never played a constructive role and are just trying to derail the government's efforts.
The controversy overshadowed the main purpose of the special session, which was to discuss workers' welfare and labor rights. But the opposition parties' antics stole the show.
As the debate continued, Congress MLAs staged a walkout, while the BJP held a parallel session in Chandigarh, calling the official session a sham. The AAP government, however, remains defiant, saying they won't let the opposition's antics bring them down.
