New Witness Testimony Emerges in JPMorgan Sexual Harassment Lawsuit
Sworn statements from two witnesses have been filed in support of Chirayu Rana, a former JPMorgan banker alleging sexual harassment and coercion by senior executive Lorna Hajdini. The testimony describes a 2024 incident in a New York apartment where one witness claims Hajdini, naked and intoxicated, invited them into a bedroom and said, 'You know, I own [Rana], so you’d better come join,' before Rana was heard pleading for her to stop.
The second witness stated that Rana previously confided that a female colleague was making his life 'hell' and later observed Hajdini kissing Rana's neck and physically grabbing him while he appeared uncomfortable. Rana's lawsuit alleges repeated non-consensual sex acts, drugging with Viagra, death threats, and racial slurs, including being called 'Brown boy.' He seeks damages for PTSD, lost earnings, and reputational harm.
Hajdini denies all allegations, asserting through her legal team that she never engaged in inappropriate conduct and has never been to the apartment where the assault was alleged to have occurred. JPMorgan says its internal investigation found no evidence to support the claims, noting Rana declined to participate or provide key information. The bank also denies accusations of ignoring complaints or retaliating against Rana by placing him on leave.
Colleagues have offered conflicting accounts, with some defending Hajdini and calling the lawsuit a 'complete fabrication.' The legal dispute remains ongoing, with Rana's attorneys stating they will present witness testimony and other evidence in court.
The court is expected to schedule further hearings in the coming weeks as both sides prepare for trial.
