Assam CM Sarma Says Voters Made Congress's Pawan Khera 'Eat Pera' After BJP Alliance Victory

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said voters had made Congress spokesperson Pawan Khera 'eat pera' following the BJP-led alliance's decisive victory in the Assam Assembly elections, in which the coalition crossed the 100-seat mark. Speaking to media and party workers after the results, Sarma dismissed the opposition's campaign, urging Congress not to field Khera again due to his remarks during the election.Sarma credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah for transforming Assam's image since 2016, calling the win a 'historic and emotional moment' that reflected public confidence in the BJP's dual focus on development and protection of Assamese identity.
