Small Plane Crash in Belo Horizonte Kills 3, Injures 2

Three people died and two were injured when a small plane crashed into a residential building in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, on Monday, according to the Minas Gerais state fire department. The pilot and copilot died at the scene, while three passengers were hospitalized; one later succumbed to injuries.
The aircraft struck the building's stairwell before falling into a parking lot, footage from TV Globo's helicopter showed. Firefighters said the impact point likely prevented greater casualties, as a hit to the building's sides could have damaged occupied apartments. No residents were injured, and the structure shows no apparent risk of collapse.
Rescuers assisted in evacuating residents, images from the fire department showed. The Aeronautical Accidents Investigation and Prevention Center recorded 153 air accidents in Brazil in 2025, with 62 fatalities.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. The flight's origin and destination remain under review.
