The Bombay High Court has directed Maharashtra authorities to modify a lookout circular against U.K.-based doctor Sangram Patil, allowing him to leave India by May 11. Patil, a British national, was detained over social media posts critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP leaders.
The Bombay High Court on Tuesday ordered the Maharashtra government to modify a lookout circular (LOC) against Sangram Patil, a U.K.-based doctor and British national, to allow him to travel back to the United Kingdom by May 11, 2026. The court intervened after Patil was stopped at Mumbai airport by immigration authorities acting on the LOC.
