Tragedy at Aji Dam: 4 Family Members Drown While Trying to Save Each Other

Imagine taking your family on a fun trip to a beautiful temple near a dam. You all decide to wash your car and pray together. Unfortunately, that's exactly what happened to the Jadav family in Rajkot, India. What started as a lovely day turned into a nightmare when four members of the family lost their lives in the Aji Dam.
The tragedy occurred on a Saturday afternoon when Bharat Jadav, a 42-year-old rickshaw driver, took his family to the Mogal Mata temple near the dam. His sons, Dhaval and Rohit, were 18 and 26 years old, respectively, and his wife's nephew, Dhruv, was just 15. They had gone to the temple to pray and wash their car.
But things took a turn for the worse when Rohit slipped into the deep water and started struggling. His brothers, Dhaval and Dhruv, jumped in to save him, but they also began drowning. Bharat, desperate to save his family, entered the water as well. Sadly, all four were swept away by the strong current.
The police and fire department received a call for help around 4-4:30 pm, and they quickly arrived at the scene. Fire Officer D. V. Jadeja said that they received a call that 3-4 people were drowning at the Aji Dam. The rescue team recovered three bodies from the water and handed them over to the emergency services.
Rajkot Deputy Commissioner of Police Hetal Patel confirmed that the family had come to the temple for prayer when the incident occurred. She said that one of the family members had gone to bathe or wash his hands and feet and slipped into deep water. In an attempt to save him, others entered the water one after another, and all drowned.
The police have registered an Accidental Death (AD) report at the Aji Dam police station and are still searching for the body of Rohit Jadav. The incident is a tragic reminder of the importance of being careful and aware of our surroundings, especially when we're near water.
The community is still reeling from the loss of these four young lives. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Jadav family and their loved ones during this difficult time.
