Swiss Woman Files Complaint Over Alleged Assault by Mumbai Businessman
A Swiss national has filed a formal complaint alleging physical assault, unlawful confinement, and subsequent online harassment by a Mumbai-based businessman during a visit to India between October and December 2025. The Geneva resident has requested Indian authorities investigate the matter and implement protective measures, citing fear for her safety and ongoing psychological trauma.
The complaint documents two specific incidents: the first on 3 December 2025, when the woman alleges she was physically grabbed and restrained inside a vehicle, and a more severe episode between 9 and 10 December 2025, during which she claims she was prevented from leaving a residence, pushed, and strangled, prompting fears for her life. She sought medical attention afterward for pain and concerns over internal injuries, according to the filing.
In a personal statement, the woman said she felt isolated and victim-blamed during her time in Mumbai, adding that her belongings were packed for departure upon her return from hospital. She alleged a cover-up attempt and claimed the accused showed no remorse. Following her return to Switzerland, she reported renewed distress in January 2026 due to hostile and degrading content allegedly transmitted through a third party.
The complaint also names another individual, claiming they minimized her medical condition and urged her to leave India quickly. It calls for a cessation of all contact, preservation of digital evidence including messages and metadata, and official assurance against further interference. Indian authorities have been asked to initiate appropriate legal proceedings and assess the need for protective orders.
No charges have been filed, and the accused has not responded to requests for comment. Authorities are reviewing the complaint, and the matter awaits formal action.
