Tributes Pour in After Explosive Device Kills 3 Indian Soldiers During Demining Op
The news of the deadly explosion in Chhattisgarh's Kanker district sent shockwaves across the region. A team of District Reserve Guard (DRG) personnel was carrying out a crucial demining operation when the explosion occurred.
The tragedy highlights the ongoing struggle against Naxalite activity in the area, which has seen a decline in recent months. Despite this, security forces continue to face threats from hidden explosives.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has expressed his deepest condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers. He praised their bravery and dedication to their work, saying that their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
The explosion, which occurred on a Saturday, was the first of its kind in the state since March 31, when the country was declared free from armed Maoists. The DRG team was working to locate and defuse IEDs planted by Naxalites in the area.
