Air Force Chopper to the Rescue: 2 Teens Saved After 16-Hour Struggle

Imagine being stuck on a water tank, with no way down, and no one around to help. This nightmare scenario became a reality for two teenagers in Uttar Pradesh's Siddharthnagar district.
It all started when five friends decided to climb the water tank to film a social media video. But things took a turn for the worse when the ladder broke, causing three of them to fall. One of the friends, Siddharth, sadly lost his life in the incident. The remaining two friends, Pawan and Kallu, were left stranded on top of the tank, with no way to get down. The authorities tried to come up with an alternative plan, but heavy rainfall made it difficult for them to access the site.
That's when the Indian Air Force stepped in. An IAF Mi-17 V5 helicopter was deployed to rescue the stranded teenagers. The aircraft reached the site at around 5:20 am, and the rescue operation was completed in just 15 minutes. The two teenagers were airlifted to safety and taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety protocols and the need for a swift response in emergency situations.
The Indian Air Force has once again shown its professionalism and commitment to saving lives. Their swift response in times of need is truly commendable.
The rescue operation was a joint effort involving the District Magistrate, Additional District Magistrate, Additional Superintendent of Police, SDM, CO Sadar, and other officials. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the electricity department also played a crucial role in the rescue operation.
