Tamil Nadu Governor Expected in Chennai for New Government Swearing-In
Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar is expected to arrive in Chennai on Tuesday morning to oversee the swearing-in of the newly elected state government, following the April 23 Assembly elections. He is likely to return to Thiruvananthapuram the same day, according to official sources.
Senior state government and police officials are scheduled to meet at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning to review the final election results and coordinate logistics for the swearing-in ceremony. The Public (Elections) Department will formally transmit the certified results to the Governor's office and notify the dissolution of the 16th Legislative Assembly and the constitution of the 17th.
The date and venue of the swearing-in are expected to be confirmed shortly. The Governor's office will issue official notifications once all procedural formalities are completed.
