2027 Godavari Pushkarams: Extensive Safety Measures Announced
The East Godavari District Collector, Ch. Kirthi, has outlined comprehensive safety arrangements for the 2027 Godavari pushkarams, focusing on the well-being of the large number of devotees anticipated to attend.
The deployment of 4,800 professional swimmers and 1,500 traditional fishing boats along the Godavari River is aimed at preventing accidents and providing immediate assistance if needed. This proactive approach is informed by the experience of the 2015 pushkarams, which witnessed a significant turnout of 4.85 crore devotees.
The 2027 event, scheduled to take place between June 25 and July 7, is expected to attract an even larger crowd of around 10 crore devotees, making safety planning crucial.
The Godavari pushkarams, occurring once every 12 years, hold profound spiritual significance, and the measures announced by the District Collector are designed to facilitate a safe and meaningful experience for all attendees.
Looking ahead, the success of these safety measures will not only impact the 2027 pushkarams but also set a precedent for future large-scale events in the region, emphasizing the importance of meticulous planning and crowd management.
