Punjab Chief Minister Under Fire for Alleged Drinking
A big controversy has erupted in Punjab, with allegations of the state's Chief Minister, Bhagwant Mann, showing up drunk to the legislative assembly. Swati Maliwal, a BJP MP, made this shocking claim on social media, sharing a video of Mann addressing the assembly.
Maliwal isn't the first person to raise concerns about Mann's behavior. Last year, he was deplaned from a flight in Germany after allegedly being drunk. The opposition party at the time accused him of being intoxicated, but the ruling AAP denied these claims.
This latest incident has sparked a huge debate in Punjab, with many people questioning whether Mann is fit to run the state. Leader of opposition Partap Singh Bajwa has even demanded that Mann and all MLAs undergo alcohol testing during the ongoing session of the Punjab assembly.
The controversy surrounding Mann comes just days after Swati Maliwal, along with five other AAP MPs, quit the party and joined the BJP. Maliwal has a history of clashing with the AAP leadership, including a claim that she was physically assaulted by a close aide of party convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
As Punjab's Chief Minister, Mann is responsible for making important decisions and running the state's affairs. But with allegations of drinking and being drunk in public, many are questioning his ability to do his job effectively.
