Rajasthan SOG Arrests Two in Multi-Crore Health Scheme Fraud

The Rajasthan Police Special Operations Group (SOG) arrested a doctor and a private laboratory operator on Monday for their alleged involvement in a multi-crore fraud targeting the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS). The arrests follow an investigation into the submission of fraudulent medical claims that caused significant losses to the state exchequer.
Additional Director General of Police (SOG) Vishal Bansal stated that the accused colluded to manipulate the RGHS, a flagship state initiative designed to provide cashless medical treatment to government employees and pensioners. The SOG identified the suspects as key players in a larger network that exploited the scheme's reimbursement process.
Preliminary findings suggest that the suspects, along with several accomplices, generated fake records to claim payments for services never rendered. Authorities are currently auditing the financial records of the laboratory and associated medical practitioners to determine the full scale of the embezzlement.
The SOG is continuing its interrogation of the two suspects to identify other participants in the syndicate. Police officials indicated that more arrests are likely as the probe expands into the administrative oversight of the health scheme.
