Vietnamese President To Lam Visits Mahabodhi Temple During India State Tour

Vietnamese President To Lam visited the UNESCO World Heritage Mahabodhi Temple in Gaya, Bihar, on Tuesday during his three-day state tour of India. Lam offered prayers at the temple and meditated under the sacred Bodhi Tree, according to official statements from the district administration.
Earlier in the day, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary and senior government officials received the President at Gaya airport. Following his visit to the temple complex, Lam proceeded to a local Vietnamese monastery to meet with religious representatives.
The visit underscores the cultural and religious ties between Vietnam and India, specifically within the framework of Buddhist diplomacy. President Lam is scheduled to continue his three-day itinerary, which includes high-level diplomatic engagements in New Delhi.
