Two Dead, Three Injured in Shooting at Dallas-Area Mall; Suspect Arrested

Two people were killed and three others injured in a shooting at K Towne Plaza in Carrollton, Texas, on Tuesday, authorities confirmed. The suspect, whose identity has not been released, was apprehended following a brief foot chase, according to Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo.
Arredondo stated the shooting was not random and that the victims knew the attacker, suggesting the incident stemmed from a business relationship. The shooting occurred in a section of the mall in the city's Koreatown district, prompting a large law enforcement response, including FBI and other federal agents.
Video footage from the scene showed armed officers moving through the plaza as bystanders took cover. K Towne Plaza is part of a commercial hub serving the city's Korean-American community, which includes over 4,000 residents of Korean descent and numerous Korean-owned businesses.
Authorities are continuing to interview witnesses and review evidence to determine the motive. The court is expected to arraign the suspect within 48 hours under Texas law.
